You can download free eBooks and audiobooks through the Ohio Digital Library. Items available for download include eBooks, audiobooks, music, and videos. Rossford Public Library is part of The Ohio Digital Library.


Quick Start Guide

How to Limit Your Search to Only Adult Titles

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Click on "Account"
  3. Click on "Settings".
  4. Scroll down to where it reads "Maturity Levels".
  5. To only show Adult titles, set the range from "General Adult" to "Mature Adult".
    • "Mature Adult" here is a way of saying erotica and/or romance novels.
  6. Click Save.

Now when you search, you will only see adult titles.
This will happen every time you search as long as you log in first.

Available digital materials

  • Adobe EPUB & PDF
  • Kindle
  • OverDrive WMA & MP3 Audiobooks
  • OverDrive Music & Video


To access the digital materials you need

  • A valid library card and PIN (typically last 4 digits of your phone number)
  • A computer or device that can access the digital materials
    • Windows, Mac, iPod, iPad, Nook, Kindle, Android, Sony Reader, etc
    • Not all devices support all formats. Example iPods don't support WMA Music/Video files.
  • Free software for the computer or device to use the materials
    • OverDrive Media Console
      • Download to computer, tablet or mobile device
      • An OverDrive account is required (will be prompted to create)
    • Adobe Digital Editions
      • Only needed for those devices that cannot install apps (ex: Some Nooks, Sony Reader)
      • Adobe Id – Download to 6 computers and transfer to eBook devices
        • Can use an OverDrive Account instead of an Adobe ID.


Lending Policy

  • Digital Cart – Up to 12 items can be in the cart. Places a temporary hold on the item. Items are automatically removed after 30 minutes if not checked out.
  • A max of 10 items can be checked out at any given time.
  • Lending periods vary. Can be set to 7, 14 or 21 days. Some items can be renewed if there are no holds.
  • Items can be returned early. Items are returned automatically on their due date.
  • A max of 15 items can be put on hold. You will receive an email when item is available and will be held for 3 days starting when email is sent. Holds can be cancelled.
    • There is an option to have holds automatically checked out when they become available.


Checkout Procedure

  1. Sign in to your account.
    1. Type in Rossford Public Library if asked for library name
    2. Enter your card and pin number. Check "Remember my login information on this device." if you want your info saved on the device.
  2. To find available materials you can do a search or select a category on the left side of the website. Check "Show only titles with copies available" to narrow down the results.
  3. Clicking on an item will bring up its item page. The page will tell you if it can be borrowed, give a description of the item, the formats available, similar items, user ratings and digital rights information.
  4. Click on "Borrow" or "Place a Hold".
  5. Click Download and select the format you want.
    1. You also have the option to Read the book in your browser.
  6. If using the OverDrive app it will download the item to the device. Kindle will be redirected to Amazon's website. If not using app click Open to download to Adobe Digital Editions or OverDrive Media Console.
  7. You can specify different lending periods (7, 14 or 21 days) for each item or accept default period. The default is 21 days unless changed in My Digital Account->Lending Periods.



  • To place a hold click "Place a Hold".
  • You can use any email address when placing a hold on an item. Just enter it when asked.
  • You have 3 days to check an item out from the time the notification email is sent.


My Digital Account

  • To manage your digital account click "Account" at top of website.
  • Bookshelf - Displays download links for title(s) currently checked out
  • Holds - Displays the title(s) for which you have placed on hold
  • Wish List - Displays the title(s) on your Wish List
  • Settings - Set personalized default lending periods for each item format
